This video shows the kennels that we have now. Whilst the internals will be the same in the new block, we really do need to get back to what we had before. I know this one in the video is okay, but we don’t do okay…

We have lots of kennel sponsors and it really does make a big difference.
Thanks everyone…Deb
Little Jack…available for sponsor

Little Jack…available for sponsor

Little Jack.
He’s 11yrs old now…when he arrived at Tia 8 years ago he was nearly dead. He was so thin and poorly with kennel cough from the stray kennel. He was rehomed once but he is a nightmare with other dogs and it didn’t last long.
I did take him to Fraisthorpe beach once, have a nice day out I thought….The least said about that the better.
He loves it when Kenzie comes to stay and takes him in the caravan. He is a lovely little lad, happy with his lot…

Ten years ago….thanks Jo & Caroline, I had forgotten about that…
And we are still out there, trying to raise money for these beautiful dogs..
Just back from a great weekend at Whitby Goth weekend. Shattered but happy and really pleased about money raised for Tia Greyhound Rescue. Great event. Met some lovely people…thanks to all for making us feel really welcome….
Phillip

Phillip

Phillip needs a Foster home and he needs it now. He is a big soft lad who is literally wasting away in kennels. He has some health problems but is on medication and is expected to make a full recovery. He is down to 26kilos. He is one unhappy dog who just wants to get on your knee for cuddles.

Transport can be arranged.

Thanks Deb

Phillip.
So we have found out that not only did he have giardia when he came to Tia but campylobacter too. No wonder he is like a hat rack. He is on his second round of medications so let’s hope this and a special diet will sort him out. This food is amazing but it’s over £50 a bag. Thanks to you showing your loyalty cards at Pets at Home we have just had a voucher through and have bought him 2 bags and some tins.
Thanks everyone.
Let’s get this big soft lad sorted. He really isn’t happy in kennels, he just wants to get on your knee for cuddles..
And Breathe

And Breathe

We have finally got an interim payment from my friends legacy. It won’t build a new kennel block but it will keep us afloat in the short term.

The good thing is, we have never owed anyone a penny. With the sale of mine and Bob’s house we have managed to keep going. That wasn’t easy, not easy at all.

We just need to figure out how to keep money coming in on a regular basis. It won’t be any more Charity shops, sadly.

Judi who runs the sponsorship scheme, voluntary, is doing an amazing job and Emma from the Pickering shop has opened up the Ebay shop and she will be running it, as well as the Charity shop. Jo runs the Tia Lottery, also voluntary and that fetches a regular income in monthly.

We do have some stalls coming up in the future and thanks to our loyal fundraisers and supporters who can see the bigger picture and haven’t turned their backs on Tia, in our worst ever time of need.

Thank you from all the sponsor dogs, the dogs waiting for homes, the dogs we are taking from the stray kennels and the dogs we are rehoming direct from trainers. Special thanks to Manda & Nat from Northern Greyhound Rescue who helped us out with all the allotment dogs and who also took all the dogs from the shed in Bradford. The are still Independent, like us, and wouldn’t take the blood money from the Greyhound Retirement Scheme.

It is still business as usual, just in a different way. We have just had to adapt, like everyone and thankfully we are still here.

Thank you….a lot…Deb
