MASSIVE THANKS to everyone who has come forward to help. We have managed to adopt out 4 dogs, 9 have gone into foster homes and 4 went to Hull Animal Welfare….Thanks to everyone….our resident lurchers, James, Spud, Jack and Kiah are especially grateful to get their own beds back. The vet room is all well and good, but nosey lurchers can’t see what’s going on.
Yes we still need foster/permanent homes… I went back to the allotment on Friday; there are other dogs there on some other gardens. We will keep you updated.
It has been a hectic week to say the least. Thanks everyone….we couldn’t do it without you…..Deb

Mr Mole is a beautiful, terrified soul. He is just starting to feel at ease, lying still and trying to be invisible. He’s had a run in one of our paddocks and felt the sunshine on his back. He’s also had biscuits, sausage rolls, and snuggles and love.
Animal welfare issues never go away, and neither do we. Please continue to support Tia, and help us help him and his 12 friends. You can make a donation through the ‘Paypal’ button at the top of this page, even if you don’t have a Paypal account. Any donation you can make helps and is very much appreciated.

“I am Canisa. Ten weeks ago I was adopted from Tia Rescue and I moved to the Netherlands to be with my new mummy.”
As some of you will remember, Canisa was recently rehomed in the Netherlands with Laura. Canisa, with some help from Laura, has provided us with an update on her journey from the UK and how she has been settling in, which you can read by clicking here.

I don’t very often get involved publicly with this stuff. But the Heaton’s kennels are beyond belief.
They have been “looking after” greyhounds like this for the past 24yrs that I know of. I have no idea how long they have been racing greyhounds.
I have had a lot of dogs off them over the years.
The Greyhound Board of Great Britain will try and tell you it’s a one-off, they have fallen on bad times, they will give them money to do up their kennels. It’s not that long ago that they moved here and not only do they race greyhounds now, but the move to these kennels has allowed them to run boarding kennels and breed designer dogs.
They will do anything for money but continually plead poverty.
It has really struck home to me this year that no matter what Tia and other rescues do, that this problem is still massive.
These trainers and others like them are allowed to continue keeping these dogs in these conditions by the GBGB….It is a disgrace.
The stories I could tell….
GBGB licensed kennels / Tia Rescue unlicensed rescue kennels.
Still, there isn’t a problem with the racing industry. Is there?

We need to find this little chap a home..
He’s 6 months old, chipped, all papers and jabs fleas worms etc. From a working farm. He’s very sweet but very very timid perhaps needs a female adopter.
All enquiries to Deb at Tia rescue.

Many thanks to all staff and customers of the Auckley and Kirk Sandall Co-op stores for supporting Tia Rescue over the last 12 months. By nominating Tia Rescue as their chosen charity, shoppers have donated to us every time they have used their Co-op membership card. The money will be put to very good use caring for the animals at Tia Rescue.
Once again, thank you for your support, it is very much appreciated!

MayQueen, Annie and Beauty.
I love looking through my old photos, of which I have a lot.
MayQueen and Annie are long gone.
Beauty left us on Wednesday, she was the grand old age of 31 years….
Thanks to all our supporters who continue to help us, help these unwanted animals, whether they are ex broodmares or ex-racers they are all loved equally at Tia.
Special thanks to Jess, Sophie and Hannah who stayed with Beauty until me and Bob got back and thanks to Sylvia the vet..
She was a very special Shire mare…Sleep tight big girl.

In memory

Breed: Cob
Sex: Colt
DOB: 2019
About Me
Sherlock is on the smaller side (11 hh) and is probably the smallest cob we have here at Tia
He is friendly and always comes up for a cuddle in the field. He loves being mischievous with his field friends and we often see them playing in the field and showing off their moves.
Sherlock is still in training due to him being so young, he tries his best to please and loves to learn new things.
He is now ready to find his forever homes and build a bond with his very own human.
