Elf on the shelf! Day 5…

Tinker Tia here!

I asked Princess Polly the African Grey if I could hang out with her today, but she’s playing hard to get 😉. Maybe if you click on the ‘Donate’ button at the top of the page I could get her some peanuts? I’m love sick! ❤

Finding the right woman…

Finding the right woman…

We despaired of Loki recovering from his terrible ordeal. Three days on the run slap bang in fireworks season had shattered his nerves. No coaxing or treats could tempt him from the back of his pen and it looked like we had another sponsor dog in the making. Such a waste of a beautiful young dog.

Bronia and the team did a magnificent job in getting him through those early days and I thank everyone for going the extra mile with Loki. The fire had gone out in him though and Loki took little pleasure in the comings and goings of the kennels.

Then it happened!. The click click click of a new arrival coming past the pen and everything changed. Loki’s last trainer (who tore Yorkshire apart trying to find him) brought in his previous kennel mate and the violins began to play. Thunderbolt city! He almost bust his tail on the panels and the man cave era was over.

When a grey arrives at Tia we always try to find out as much as possible about it’s background. Sigyn and Loki have a bit of previous!. They raced under another trainer down south and had probably changed hands together when they came up North.

Whatever!

Please check out both of Loki’s videos, the rescue and his old girlfriend Sigyn. If they don’t move you in these awful times you might want to check your own pulse. As for us, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

Our heartfelt thanks…

Our heartfelt thanks…

Our heartfelt thanks go out to Erica who i believe had the drone, to the lorry driver, the tractor driver and the greyhound men who caught poor Loki. It could have been a totally different story. I know some people like to slate greyhound men but this is them at their best…

Thanks guys…

Deb

An update on Tind…

“We fostered the beautiful Tind for 5 weeks. She quickly settled into home life after a couple of nervous days to start with. She loves nothing more than snoozing in her bed and playing with squeaky toys. She loves meeting new people and munching  on apple and carrot. She mastered the stairs really quickly and a couple of commands eg “in your bed”. She likes to have a routine and knows when to go to bed at night – she happily slept in her bed on the landing after getting used to being on her own at  night.

She doesn’t need much exercise and was reluctant to walk for more than about 30mins a day, but hopefully this might improve with time once she is settled.

Although she’s happy to greet other medium/large dogs on a walk, she didn’t quite take to smaller dogs or neighbouring cats! She can pull on the lead if she sees any small furries but walks well otherwise and happily wears her muzzle and coat.

She’s a brilliant dog, full of affection and will make a great companion for someone. We really hope she finds her forever home soon”
