The sign of the times.

It is a sad state of affairs, for every one, the staff shortages, but i never thought it would come to this.

We only have 20 dogs in the rehoming block, we used to have around 50.

Obviously the sponsor block is full but we only have 3 staff in on any one day and we are really struggling to get more..

We have so many dogs waiting to come in, but we can’t take them because we can’t get the staff to look after them.

So it’s catch 22…..

It would help if we could get a volunteer dog walker, or two, every day. We do have a few days covered, thanks to the regular walkers but we do need 3 or 4 more to commit to a set day.

The dogs don’t know Xmas is coming, they just know they need to go out for a walk….

It is a very sad state of affairs…..Deb

Dee

Dee

About Me

Cuore di Ferro 16.3.17 (means Heart of Iron)

Could have been a contender. In fact he really was. So good that if not for a change of heart, he would have been on his way back to Ireland for breeding.

Dee has slipped his name and stands at ease, just an another whopping 38 kilo dog down the far end, waiting for his family to show up

Cyrus

Cyrus

About Me

Cornforth Raptor 1.8.19

Darina’s thumping big brother who minced up the drive a mere two weeks after his sister. Someone is having a bit of a clear out it would seem. His connections tried their hardest with Cyrus, giving him every opportunity to add to the family EPNS. He wasn’t having any of it!!!!

Cyrus learnt very early where the pick up was situated and slowed down to see if his kennelmaid had any treats.

Brains, looks but no fairy princess at 38kgs. We await to see if any more of the litter come north.

Aster

Aster

About Me

Frainey Fiona 26.3.17

Aster won 6 races at Sunderland but hasn’t set foot in the place since March 2019. Frankly she is in a bit dowdy and looks as if she has undertaken a very long journey. The girl was exhausted when she arrived.

Aster is not very big at 27 kgs. Needs snogs, pies, sofas and a family.

Jack and Jill

Jack and Jill

Both: Un-named and born 10.9.14

Jack and Jill were owned by an old lad who died. He had had racing greyhounds all his life and these, his last two, were kept close by him. They were born in September 2014.

I think Jill misses him and Jack is lost. They had only ever lived with him and had a kennel and a run…they have never known anything like Tia.

Jill will only eat pasta and tuna, chicken, sausage rolls and steak pies.

They need a quiet home with a back garden….and a soft place to fall together.
