Ridley (Scotland)

Ridley (Scotland)

Ridley (Greyfriars Jet)

d.o.b. 8.7.19

Ridley last raced in December 2022. He then was stuck in the kennels until we got him at the the end of August. Product of a frankly mediocre litter. He was one of the nine McManus’s dogs that were lucky enough to still be alive.

Did his bit though, and won on five occasions.  Lovely lad and a bit camera shy. Probably cannot wait to make a fresh start, though seems happy here.

He is a lovely big soft lad who is now ready for a family and a home of his own.

Here he is, moving faster than he ever did on the track…

Tubbs (Scotland)

Tubbs (Scotland)

Tubbs (Gowlane Roddy)

d.o.b. 21/7/2019

Tubbs finished racing back end of July 2022. This 35kg lad trailed in last, when priced as a hot favourite and his connections thankfully called it a day. Part of the batch of welfare cases that arrived up here in August, Tubbs has settled nicely.  Four of his mates are now on their own sofa, he watched them go.  Just another ordinary black dog but could be the joy in someone’s life. It would be wonderful for him to find his family. A big soft lad.
Bit of a looker you have to admit.

Tubbs is beginning to get the hang of the new routine here at Nairn and we are slowly getting to know him.

Now rehomed…

Presley (Scotland)

Presley (Scotland)

Presley (Vixons Power)

d.o.b. 2/5/2020

Full of beans and very friendly with it. Suit people who like exercise, cross-fit, own fit bits, that sort of thing!

Presley has nothing to be ashamed of with his score sheet. Nineteen wins out of 102 races. Tough lad who has just retired and in danger of being forgotten because of his colour.

Presley is with us in Scotland; Deb a ring if you are interested.

Probably more suited to being in a sole dog household

Bauer

Bauer

Bauer (Corrin Bolt)

d.o.b. 17/8/2018

Lad who has been rotting in his Kennel since his last race in June 2022, until he came up here in August. Another of the Macmanus dogs.

Veteran of 106 races and should have been on a sofa long ago.

Bauer is probably the most troubled of the lot. Rumour has it that McManus kennelled dogs together without muzzles. The track vet was always stitching them up. Bauer has scars all over him. He watches every move in the kennels and i only hope he sleeps well on a night. He is coming round, we can catch him now in the paddocks and he is learning to trust again but very, very slowly.

Mulder

Mulder

Mulder (Mega Boy)

d.o.b. 1/8/19

Mulder won 4 of his 20 races, the last one was in March 2022 and he never left his trainers kennel again.

He sits firmly at the back of the kennel waiting for us to make a wrong move. A very nervous lad at the moment. One of the Lee Macmanus batch of nine we took in at the end of August. He needs an experienced home, preferably with another dog but this boy must be kept safe and not let off his lead even in a secure paddock.

Work in progress.

Reagan (Scotland)

Reagan (Le Scargot)

d.o.b. 11/9/19

Raced for the final time April 23 and been kennelled ever since.  Arrived the end of August with the batch from Lee Macmanus, the trainer subject to a welfare case.  Another big lad. He is very bouncy and happy and is ready to go into the world. He is a stunning boy.

Doc (Doncaster – RESERVED)

Doc (Doncaster – RESERVED)

Doc (Athlacca Doctor)

born Feb 2022

Bit smaller than some of the others on here. Weighing in at a trim 31 kgs.  Less on the clock than his mate Del but still a reasonable score sheet with seven races.  Still a young dog.

Doc hasn’t been on a track for over a year and is overdue a home. We have been told he is as soft as butter, loving and quiet as a mouse.

Just ready to begin his serious career as a sofa hound.

Del

Del

Del (Waikiki Del)

born June 2019

Failed to qualify back in February after a long career running at Doncaster. Del is a blue lad who tips the scales at 34kg

Del needs a home after 150 races and winning 28 of the things. More once we have talked to his trainer.

Del is a gentle giant – a happy, smiley guy who just adored his walk with us this morning, especially all the new things to sniff!  Despite being a big strapping lad, Del stood quietly whilst we put his harness on and walked calmly on his lead.  He didn’t pull, even when we saw a collie who barked at him.  Del looked at the other dog with interest but didn’t react.  Del is very loving and affectionate and his trainer tells us he’s great with kids.  He’s generally a very laid back boy who loves chilling out on his bed”.

He doesn’t owe racing a darn thing.

Bullet (Tells Bullet)

born November 2022

Five races in the North of England. Managed to get his head in front once.  Soon stopped any bright ideas in his subsequent races. Very friendly with other dogs and a nice sort. Neutered and ready to take his place in the world.

Bambi (Ripley)

Bambi (Ripley)

Bambi (Blastoff Bambi)

born June 2020

Tired girl.

Needs a new career as a lounge ornament. One hundred and three races and owes racing nothing.

Bambi finally hung up her boots on 1st March whilst still a contender.  Right to the last the lady has given her all. Not the largest of girls, heart is bigger than most.

Needs to be going down the drive looking through the rear window of her new family’s hatchback!!!
