Angie & Celine

Angie & Celine

Angie & Celine are two cobs that we rescued from the death field in Wroot some years ago. They were with us until August 2022, when they both found a new home out on the Isle of Lewis.

Here they are, living their best life… I could do a lengthy caption, but I think the video speaks for itself, really…!

To think that at the time, they were so weak and close to death we were advised to put them to sleep…

Magic (on foster)

Magic (on foster)

Magic (Ruffian Magic)

born September 2021

Comfy there young lady?  Travel’s hell isn’t it. A firm seal of approval from our latest guest.

Nothing to be ashamed of with her career, Magic did her best! Last racing at the end of April 2024, this 29kg lady is now up with Tia in Scotland.

Magic will get you plenty of admirers. Her lovely coat is like that of a Holstein cow.

A cracking looking girl, just turned three.

Gone in 60 seconds.

Kenzo

Kenzo

Kenzo (Haggswood Kenzo)

Trialled at Doncaster back in October 2023 and turned in the trap. Bit of a klutz by all accounts. No stone was left unturned to launch his career, hand slipping included.  Gloriously and spectacularly useless, top lad, three years old, smaller than his bestie at 28kgs and ready to take his place in the world. He has no idea how lucky he is.

Like Eeyore, Kenzo is part of the second welfare batch and will eventually head North to us if not homed previously. His guardian thinks he is the bees knees. Bit of a showstopper.

Rami (on Foster )

Rami (on Foster )

Rami (Headford Ben)

d.o.b. 2.8.20

He has had quite enough adventures for one lifetime thank you and needs his own tribe. Pulled out of a Yorkshire canal, Rami has very little on the clock with six just races. Tops the scale at around 32 kilos, and lucky to be alive.

Rex (formerly Todd)

Little Todd (now known as Rex) is settling well into his new home; here’s a short message from his new owners…

“Hey, just an update on the little puppy (now named Rex) to say how grateful I am to you Deb, for sharing his post on needing a home! We collected him yesterday morning, he travelled well and has slotted right in with our family! Our home is now complete! Thank you again!!”

Remember we have lots of dogs needing a home right now – if you think could rehome a dog or provide one with a foster home, please get in touch with us at rehoming@tia-rescue.org or ring Deb on 7974 960684.

Thank you.

Darcy (Humberside)

Darcy (Humberside)

Darcy

Meet Darcy. This beautiful girl is six years old and in need of a fresh start. Darcy was originally a Tia girl, but massive thanks to Clare for taking her in.

She is fully house trained, and ok to be left for up to 4 hours. Although she was very reactive to walk initially, she is now making good progress on the lead when meeting other breeds. However, she must go to an experienced home, one with no other dogs, small furries or young children (under 10), and ideally one with previous knowledge of sighthounds and/ or reactive dogs, in order to continue her training and not fall back into bad habits!

If you can help Darcy find that forever home, please get in touch for more info by messenger or ringing Clare @ Humber Retired Greyhounds on 07722 179342.

Little Munchkin

Little Munchkin

Sadly, we lost our lawn mower  today. Whilst we were waging war over her feet, Munchkin succumbed to stomach cancer. Much kinder to let her go, but hell we are going to miss her.
It is the eighth of January, and we have already lost two of our friends. Old girl was no trouble, and Munchkin enjoyed her time with us.
Hopefully you will find a small paddock in heaven to wander about in.
Kiss on that velvet nose, sweetheart. There’s going to be one very upset lady in Bradford tonight…
Lilly

Lilly

Lilfirerocket, now known as Lilly, is looking for her forever sofa.

She is 3.5 years old, spayed, and recently wormed.

She didn’t have a bad career, with eleven wins under her belt. She just became slower, and younger whippersnappers took her crown. Her career came to an end when she trailed in last out of four. Something we hate to see.

Currently on foster in South Yorkshire getting acquainted to home life. After just two days of getting used to her new feeding and walking routine, she is now clean in the house.

This beautiful black girl is really playful and loves playing with toys. She’s settled fine with two other hounds, but we think she would be quite happy as an only dog also. She loves people and greets them with her helicopter tail. She is really loving and also very inquisitive, and will make some lucky person very happy to have her in their life.
