We had William since he was born, we had him for six years and we used to show him in his youth.
Sometimes opportunities come up that you can’t afford to miss and when the guys at Royal Park Shires wanted to adopt him, although it was hard to let him go, we knew they could offer him a better life than we could. So off he went with another Shire we had called Henry. They later also adopted a grey mare that we had called Lizzie.
Just absolutely wonderful to see this video of him, in London, delivering a Xmas tree to the Royal family.
Not bad for a rescue horse….not bloody bad at all.
Thanks to everyone at Royal Park Shires, you are just amazing….

It’s Christmas time at Tia Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue and we are hosting a Grand Christmas Draw as our newest fundraiser, with all proceeds going directly towards our greyhounds’ Christmas dinners! We have some amazing prizes on offer with the grandest prize of all a fabulous Christmas Hamper packed with all sorts of treats and goodies!
So come along and have some fun, meet friends of Tia new and old. Whilst the whole draw should last for around an hour, we will also have a break halfway through and a chance for people to catch up! Entry is just £5 for a chance to win some amazing prizes and tickets can be purchased through our website shop
The draw will be held on Friday 16th December at 19:00.

The calendars are now available on the website shop. There are also Xmas cards, Xmas goodie bags, poo bags, pens, Mr Mole cards and prints, lots of other items and just in “Tia Rescued & Retired” jackets for when your hounds are out and about.

As you all know we are struggling massively financially but I have no intention of losing this Charity or the animals.
When we got some money in July from my old friend Cynthia I might have done a little bit of panic buying.
We had made our own haylage in the summer so that saved us a lot of money.
The Butchers food was donated as were all the carpet squares for the bottom of the dog beds.
So that’s us set for the winter….we still need Chappie and Sardines and all the time but other than that I think we are sorted..
Obviously that doesn’t include all the monthly outgoings but we are in a better position than some and the farm is owned by the Charity….we will just sit tight and hope for the best…

What is it that these dogs all have in common?
Are they all the same colour? No
Are they all the same age? No
Did they all race at the same track? Yes
Were they all rehomed responsibly? No
Were any of them rehomed responsibly by their trainer? No

The little blue girl, Scarlets Choice found herself being picked up as a stray and ending up in the stray kennel at Penistone just over a couple of weeks ago. She was very popular on Facebook, 567 shares and not 1 offer of help except from me. Fortunately for her I had some good friends who were on the lookout for a new girl. Their last beautiful greyhound girl lived until she was 15 years and 1 month…
She hadn’t been spayed and she was done prior to rehoming. Here she is a few days later….what a lucky girl you are.

Who would have thought that when we “acquired” these ponies in 2018 that this would happen. We found out that one had already died and someone local was feeding these little ones. When we went to get them they were so weak that we literally picked them up out of this hell hole, we didn’t know if they would ever make it. Fortunately they were all unwanted, abandoned colts so no one came looking for them. Here is Athos and a write up from his proud owners.

It’s been over three years since Athos came into our lives, and what a time that has been! He certainly is the cheeky chappy you described in your Facebook post back in 2019.
Athos has gone from strength to strength, competing at our local riding show in North Wales, Lloc and District, placing 4th at STARS last year in the ridden coloured pony and then this year……. Athos won his in-hand class out of 45 stunning ponies!! He then went into the evening Supreme performance and only went and won overall in-hand Supreme!
I cannot thank you enough for allowing Athos into our lives. He and Mia have a fantastic bond; he has helped her in many ways this past year. He is such a lovely, honest pony.
