Penny (Pennys Draiochts)
Update….she hasn’t been spayed the lying tw—.
Her racing name was Penny’s Draiochts
Born 12th September 2018.
She raced at Doncaster up until July last year, clocked up 71 races. She has been spayed and she was rehomed in February this year….shame it wasn’t a better home.
Shame they left her in the stray kennel for a week.
Thanks to Cliffe kennels again for letting us know about this little beauty and thanks to foster parents for stepping in and getting her out of the pound.
We’re calling her Penelope for now.
Penny is currently in South Yorkshire on foster waiting for her retirement home, transport and meetings can be arranged. She raced over 70 times out of Doncaster, and this gentle sweet girl is now ready to be homed.
She is a clean, sociable and happy girl. Mixes well with sight hounds and other breeds. She travels well, very calm on the lead. Whilst in her foster home she has been a joy to have around, she has an appetite as big as her heart and has easily settled into home life.

As many of you are aware, some bright spark ( very expensive marketing company no doubt ) has changed the way that people can choose the “Charity of their choice” to receive the lifeline vouchers. Which I have to say, are worth having. We have just saved £150 on a £240 shop.
To cut a long story short, bright spark has decided that the Charity has to be within a 20 mile radius restriction of the store….and so do you!! So no longer can you chose your preferred Charity…you just have to chose a local one.
This will impact us greatly for any new people wanting to support us, but I have been assured that if we are your chosen Charity that will still be the case.
A lot of Charities are not happy and rightly so. I have just spoken to Adam who is the Charity Co-Ordinator at Pets at Home. He says the radius restriction will be removed but he doesn’t know when. He has asked that we email in so he can put pressure on bright spark to sort it out asap…

After being in 2 foster homes Rocco has decided that he wants to live the life of luxury, on his own.
Whilst he is absolutely fine with other dogs out and about, he just doesn’t want to live with them.
Thanks to Andy for fetching him up a few weeks ago. He is settled in kennels but you can tell he wants to be out and back in a home….
This was Rosshill Rocco bn Jan 2021 in his prime…..
Not a lot of thanks he got did he Anthony Upton? GBGB Trainer.
Don’t worry, they know he is safe with us.
This was the original post..
Urgent foster home needed for Rocco. He is 3 years old and has been in a home for a few months but doesn’t really like all the attention that he is getting from the little human person in the house. The trainer has said he will take him back and put him to sleep. The owners do not want that and just want him to get another home with no little people…
He is currently in Rochdale. If a foster home isn’t found he will come up here, but ideally he needs rehoming down there.
From his foster mom..
The handsome Rocco is looking for his forever home. He is 3 years old and house trained. He’s a big softie loves cuddles actually smiles lol. Can be quite strong on the lead. Make a lovely couch pooch

he responds very well to attention

The farrier came today. I was very scared, I’m scared about most things to be honest.
I do a lot of jumping which makes my mom jump too and shout “jesus Odin”.
My front shoes were welded on so I had to be sedated to get them off…it took ages but they are off now so I can go out with Tom & Joey. They’ll show me the ropes.
I don’t normally look over the door but I needed somewhere to rest my enormous head….I’ll be awake soon, I hope they have my tea ready, I missed lunch…
Odin…

With the greyhound industry in serious trouble, wouldn’t it be great if we had a rehoming centre back in Yorkshire.
I know of one trainer, just one of many who has over 200 dogs. Around 90 of them aren’t racing, they are just stuck in trainers kennels..
If only we had financial backing….we could do so much more good.
