Essy

Essy

bn  20/07/2019  White and blue tiny bundle of joy.

Essy is being beautiful and is almost ready for her sofa.

Previously known as Westwind Honey. Raced at Towcester. Sweetest little girl, full of happiness and joy just wants a fuss.
She would be ok as an only pet, or with other dogs. She doesn’t pull on the lead, but goes nuts off the lead enjoys zoomies.
Beautiful precious little soul.
Essy is in Nottingham

Eday

Eday

I keep coming back to this picture of Eday. Because this to me just sums up a lot of what is wrong with the racing industry.

Eday was born in Ireland 1st March 2017. Her racing name was Denzone Bubble.

She has 35 races at Doncaster, the last one being in May 2019. She wasn’t very good, just a card filler.

When she came to Tia nine months later she was a very sorry sight. Even the trainers who fetched her in didn’t like her.

Her trainer was notorious for putting his dogs to sleep once they had finished racing.

He actually came to the farm to have words with me when I posted all over the internet the state of her.

Condition when she arrived at Tia….Disgusting! stinks, damaged hock and strap marks from an anti bark muzzle.

He lived in a built up area and any dogs that barked got the same treatment even though they were “allegedly illegal”

Thankfully Eday got a lovely home and made a full recovery. She was one of the lucky ones.

How Things Change

How Things Change

Fraisthorpe Beach, 1st April 2018, Reach the Beach. What a fabulous day it was. We took a lot of the kennel dogs and me and Kenzie snuck off our on way home, to Mr Moos, for a very large ice cream.

How things have changed in the past five years. We are still here, although it is very, very different.

Thanks everyone for your continued support. Who knows what will be thrown at us all next.

Deb & Bob and all at Tia.

Planning your Easter weekend? Just a reminder that we will be having a Tia fundraising stall at Carlton Towers Easter Fete on Easter Sunday (9th April), 10 am to 4pm, where there will be an Easter egg hunt, local produce and craft stalls, face painting, BBQ/woodfired pizza, bar, tearoom, all in the stunning grounds of Carlton Towers (DN14 9LZ). Please note there is an entrance fee of £5 per person or £3 per child (if booked online in advance) or £6 and £4 on the day. Dogs welcome on leads. If anyone wants to help on the day, please get in touch.

Thank you

Thank you

With so many old dogs in the kennels we do have a lot of dental issues.
Chris from Donaldson’s vets sorted them all out, in our own vet room, sulk, before we moved up here. I don’t know what I miss more, the vet room or making bacon butties, for Chris & Becca every Thursday, when they came to the farm.
We do use Moray Coast vets now who are really good…
I don’t really want them having operations though, unless they really need it.  So I found Lisa on Facebook. She came out last week and it will be a regular fortnightly visit. She is great with the dogs. Jack wasn’t impressed, but the others were fine. Tinkerbell absolutely loved it….Thanks Lisa.
Sorry Victor, you are off to the vets next week…
Deb

Whilst the temporary kennels are not up to our high standards, the dogs don’t know.

They have at least two meals a day, clean comfy beds and freshly cooked sausages or sausage rolls for supper, heating on overnight, staff & volunteers who love them to bits and they are safe.

We have 34 dogs here, 15 are over 10 years old and they are loved every minute of every day.

Thank you to everyone who sponsors, whether it is a dog, a kennel, or just by sending food.

Thank you….Deb

ps we will get there…

Home Found…

Home Found…

The amazing Olive (AKA Olly Pop) has been in foster with us for a couple of months. This amazing girl had a rough time. We picked her up from the pound when her time was up – scared, clueless and starving after spending quite a while on the streets. Olive has made massive amounts of progress and is improving every day. She responds to calm, positive but firm guidance and this has helped her to feel safe and learn how to be a dog. She’s pretty good with other dogs she meets and our two have really helped her learn how to play (she has been living with another grey and a lab). She sleeps through the night, no longer needing a crate. She’s pretty much house trained, walks well on a lead and is fine off lead with quite impressive recall – especially if you have a treat!  Olive absolutely loves being around people and has been helping my partner, a therapist, out at work, calming those she meets. She has learnt not to jump up and there is absolutely no malice in her whatsoever. Her desire for food at any cost has also reduced massively. We only feed her three times a day now, putting her bowl down and asking her to wait. She has finally realised that she gets fed and no longer eat anything she can get into!! She’s very clever and has learnt to wait at gates with the other dogs only going through when her name is called!  Olive will make the most loving companion for someone – I don’t think I’ve ever met a dog with such a big ❤️.

Olive…racing name NowYouSeeMe  just 3 years old.

Given away by serial offender J Simpson, trainer at Doncaster stadium.
