Jenny Wilson Art

Jenny Wilson Art

We were recently donated a selection of beautiful oil-on-canvas paintings by artist Jenny Wilson, which we are selling on our website shop here. We have ten pieces currently available, a sample of which is available below. You can also see more of her work on her website.

As always, if you are thinking of purchasing any of these pieces via our shop, we would prefer you to pay via direct bank transfer so we are not charged excessive payment processing fees.

Thank you!

Foster Homes Needed

Foster Homes Needed

I have been talking to quite a lot of people recently who really want another dog but can’t afford the vets fees.

With the absolute horror of the amount of dogs backing up in trainers kennels I have come up with an idea.

We have 30 dogs on our site that are currently with trainers, we are rehoming them steadily away, but wouldn’t it be really, really good if we could get some of these dogs into foster homes. We do have a few people who foster, thank you. But we need more. All you need to do is provide the food, the love and we’ll sort the vets bills out.

A trainer rang me today from Essex, they have 34 dogs needing homes. It is getting very serious out there.

Please have a think and help me get some of these dogs out for their first Xmas turkey…Deb

Now then young lady. A very lucky girl. Full sister to our own Crystal and another rescue’s Tralee.  Both of your sisters fell amongst thieves. If you are half as good as our Chrissy, you will be OK.

Not a bad end of career total with fourteen wins. Friendly girl who hung up her jacket six weeks ago.

Based in Doncaster.

Otis

Otis

Otis (Ruffian Han)

born November 2020

“Otis is a lovely calm and quiet boy.  He jumps into the car by himself and travels well, laying down for the journey.  Otis walks very calmly and quietly on his lead and enjoys having a good sniff around.  We saw other dogs and some partridge but other than pricking up his ears and having a good look, he didn’t react, even when a small dog barked at him.  We walked for about 3-4km and whilst Otis was fine with that distance, we got the impression he would also be happy with shorter walks.  Otis is very friendly even when he doesn’t know you but reserves the best of his affection for his special people and you’ll know he’s settled and you’ve won his trust when you start to see his happy face and waggy tail.  Otis is a gorgeous looking, sweet natured boy who will be the perfect addition to someone’s family”.

Lovely calm friendly sort. Nine wins, finishing back in May. Took umbrage at being shouldered out the way at the first bend and was red carded for life.

Sensible boy! Still with his trainer in Doncaster. Give Deb a ring if you are interested.

Jane (Salacres Jane)

A working girl and a very attractive one. A doll in a teacup at 25 kgs, Jane is a star. Bowed out just over a week ago, Jane is as tough as teak with 17 wins from 94 races.

Beat that everyone.

Jane can be seen in Nottingham so please give Deb a ring at the kennels if you would like to meet her.

Madeline

Madeline (Salacres Mags)

Alright alright. Everybody back. Show a bit of decorum!

Isn’t she gorgeous? Let’s just gaze on her loveliness while we can. Madeline won 4 of her forty races. When you are this beautiful, you don’t need to try.

Thirty kgs, came in last back in July and will probably be gone in 60 secs.

“Introducing Madeline (formerly Salacres Mags). Madeline was born May 1st 2021 and won 4 of her 40 races. She has lost the last part of her tail in an accident but it still wags when she’s happy which is most of the time. Currently on foster with 2 other hounds and has settled in very easily.  Madeline is a very affectionate girl and loves cuddles. She walks very easily and politely on the lead, she is a well-built strong girl and is happy for you to guide her where she needs to be. Madeline can climb the stairs easily and sleeps happily on the landing. She is clean in the house and will sleep through for normally 7-8 hours. Loves playing with soft toys but doesn’t destroy them.

She gets on well with other breeds she has met and generally ignores them, having recently retired she still has a high prey drive and will show interest in cats, squirrels etc. Madeline has engaged with children and loves a cuddle, she is a powerful girl so care needs to be taken around them. She has been regularly left for 4 hours at a time with no destruction. Madeline travels well and jumps straight into the vehicle without hesitation. She is food orientated but this is easing, she has not stolen food or attempted to get to the kitchen counters. Currently on foster in North Notts and meetings can be arranged by calling Deb on 07974 960684.”

Mac

Mac

Mac (Salacres Mac)

d.o.b. 9/9/2020

Another Mac, a ghost of a blue dog who finished with this game eight weeks ago.  Big fellow at 36 kgs, Mac took seven of his 38 races, including a couple of Opens. At four years of age, he has nothing to be ashamed of and has finished in one piece.

Mac can be seen at his trainers in Nottingham so please ring Debs if you are interested.

All you need to do is cut them from the envelope, making sure you leave a good border so the stamp isn’t damaged. These can then be posted to our Pickering Charity shop at;

I am very tired. Also, very stiff. This man seems really nice though and it is lovely and warm here, he also has two other dogs . The boy dog is besotted with me, I don’t know why, the state I’m in.  Admittedly I am a bit moth eaten at the moment, but I hope my hair grows back soon. A girl has to make an effort after all. I have been missing for months, and I hear a lot of people have been looking for me. Bit of a welfare case, bit of a dust up.
Turns out I wasn’t very far away from my old trainer’s place. Little charmer gave me to his mates, didn’t he. I never knew who was going to feed me next, I’ve had so many homes. That’s another thing, food in this new place is epic.
I was one of the four girls that went missing from the kennel in Doncaster before he was banned.
From a previous news article:
Four dogs have been named as officially missing. Midas Tralee, Ballymac Puddles, Racenight Franco and Ballygur Mia. The trainer admitted that he has no idea where they are. Mia showed up this week, crouching in a driveway in Kent. She was dehydrated, scabby and starving but alive and all credit to all concerned in helping her. A lot of folks went out of their way for her. Hopefully the other three are out there somewhere. Anyone who thinks that twenty-seven is the total, is guilty of self-delusion.
Midas Tralee also turned up down South a few weeks ago and now we have Racenight Franco. Welcome to Tia Frankie.
She was picked up as a stray in Leeds. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Ballymac Puddles could you please let me know…Thanks Deb
Ps Message for the GBGB….  Great new Welfare Strategy guys…..outstanding.
