Dogs looking for a home…
Romeo
After waiting for what feels like forever, Romeo is pulling out all the stops to find his forever home. He’s even had a bath!

This boy last raced in Winter 2023, so that’s almost three years of, well, waiting. To give him a much-needed break from kennels and a better chance of finding a home, he went into foster in February this year.
He’s a fabulous, straightforward boy who will slot easily into most families, so come on guys… what more does this beautiful boy have to do?
Hilda
Like many a teenage girl before her, Baby Hilda is desperate to grow up and do grown-up things like… go to the pub! Well, this weekend she got her wish, and thankfully no one realised she was underage. The fake ID must have been good!

Hilda is 18 months old and still only a pup, but she has settled into foster life brilliantly. She’s super affectionate, loves cuddles, and has quickly slotted into her foster family’s routine. She’s clean in the house, sleeps through the night, travels well in the car, and is always happy to head off on a trip to the beach. She also walks nicely on her lead, understands the word “no”, and can be left for a few hours with another dog for company.

Hilda absolutely adores other dogs of all shapes and sizes, and she’s just as playful with people too. Whether she’s doing zoomies or collecting random treasures for you to find later, she’s guaranteed to keep you smiling. Described by her foster dad as “an absolute joy” who is always making him laugh, Hilda can’t live with cats or small furries and is looking for a patient, loving home, ideally with another dog to play with.

Rehomed dogs…
Rami
Do you remember Rami, one of the dogs who was found after being thrown into the canal near Selby, and Lola who was paralysed a few months ago? Well, just look at them now.

How is the investigation going Greyhound Board of Great Britain?… Probably dead in the water like all the other stuff you are hiding.
Thankfully Rami isn’t.
Nelson
What a wonderful update on Nelson, who was rehomed in January.
“Hi Tia, hope you are well! We are doing amazing. Nelson has truly settled into retirement. We’ve had some wonderful adventures together, and I can take him anywhere. He’s been to dog-friendly cafés and shops, and visited family in Edinburgh. He loves everyone he meets, but especially loves children. He loves the beach and has a favourite local woodland walk. We still meet up with the Runaround gang on a Sunday at the field for off-lead fun, and he has made lots of doggy friends of all breeds and sizes. I truly believe he’s my soul dog and will be eternally grateful for your help in bringing him home. I shall send over some pics from the last few weeks.”

Way to go, Nelson… you have truly landed on your paws!
Shop donations
A big thank you to Ruth, who recently delivered a lovely collection to the Pickering Shop before travelling back home to Oldham.

Her mum, Mavis, a long-standing supporter of Tia, sadly passed away last year and very kindly left her much-loved collection of dog ornaments and pictures to Tia to help raise much-needed funds.

The collection included a range of items such as Beswick and Wade Whimsies figures, Coopercraft pieces, and Pollyanna Pickering prints, along with many other items that were made available through the shop, which is open daily from 10am to 4pm. Some of these items may now have been sold.

Otley Garden Centre
Last week at Otley Garden Centre, Billy popped along early to help set up before heading home where it was cooler.

Thank you to everyone who came along to see us and support the stall.
