We are still working through the fallout of the Macmanus GBGB Welfare case.
Khiara. The girl with the tear on her shoulder who alerted us to the situation. Fully recovered and living with our ex-Tia Nina. Her injury has healed nicely we hear. Crockett, Perry, Luther and Morse are with their new families in Scotland and Gods own county. Fantastic news. They are from the first batch of nine dogs to arrive at Nairn. Some were the size of elephants and to home them is quite an achievement. More are on their way to Scotland in the New Year to replace the likely lads. Two of the worst affected are on their way up soon. With another 6 waiting patiently in trainers kennels in Doncaster, waiting for their chance of a space either with you, or up here.
Pauline, Han, Nancy, Jet and Oola are all in foster homes with a view to permanent adoption. Best behaviour guys. Eleanor and Frankie are also off to new homes in the New Year, which is fantastic. Thanks, Gino, for looking after them. It will be quite a wrench to let them go. Frankie (Racenight Franco) has had enough adventures for a lifetime and must think she is dreaming. Lucky to be alive tbh.
Lilly (Lilfire Rocket) is with her foster dad Neil and looking for a new home. Lilly replaced our Amber. Amber now lives on Hoy and thoroughly enjoyed the Carol singing with her new family. Not sure the family did but she looks so happy. Time you had a change of luck girl.
Izzy, the bullied little puppy had a bit of a setback, but it all turned out for the best. After seeing more of Scotland than we would like, Jess, her foster mum retrieved her, and she is living her best life. Almost got the hang of walking sedately we hear. A new career as a sponsor dog beckons so, please check out her new page. The FTGH Facebook girl Lottie is now happily settled in Yorkshire. Lottie won’t be the last to come to our attention this way sadly.
The last few months has seen a reoccurrence of what could be called the bad old days. Incidents. After a few years without any strays at all, we have taken five under our wing over the last few weeks. One was a recently imported courser; we have it on good account Lewis was on the way to a flight to Pakistan. Some Tia dogs have been returned due to bereavement or simply not making the cut. Keiran should be in sunny Spain not a Yorkshire pound and the fallout of a banned trainer continues. Frankie showed up a few weeks ago and we continue to search for Ballymac Puddles. As more rescues close, we pick up the slack.
Jack. One Eyed Jack. It made our Xmas. Homed in Scotland with a wonderful family and other dogs for company. Jack was hot footed up the M1 and didn’t get time to unpack. Last seen with a set of antlers on his head. Not a dry eye in the kennel.
Pearl was rehomed by another rescue in South Yorkshire and when i informed them that we had her, her reply was nothing short of incredulous…” she’s not one of ours ” and when i pointed out that she was, she replied ” how do you expect me to recognize a dog from a photograph”
There are so many more happy hounds in homes, too many to mention. What lucky dogs they are..
I do not thank the following people enough and I do so now openly. Whilst Tia was fighting fires elsewhere, our back-room team sorted out the logistics of a new approach to rehoming. I like to think of them as Black-Ops and may buy them all balaclavas. They are a credit to humanity and Tia would fold without their help. The gang collect, keep safe, transport, liaise, take pictures of ears, form new contacts, write up and rehome, all without my occasionally questionable management skills. They scour free-adds, raise funds and collect intel (oh yes) and solely thanks to them Tia is doing better than the official industry when it comes to rehoming. When a bridge fails, they lay across the divide. A few dogs on our books owe their lives to these people and I am proud to know them. I have done so for years.
We will be doing more of these updates should they prove of interest to our followers. Tia gets so caught up in the firefight , we forget to let you know the outcome.
