Dogs for rehoming
All the dogs on this page need a ‘forever home’.
We now have dogs kennelled in various parts of the country. The rehoming situation is so dire that several trainers have begged for our help. Some of these folk we have known for years. Additionally, being based in Scotland can be a bit of a trek for some of our faithful adopters.
This is a new venture for Tia, and we are gaining traction with increasing success.
We are still actively taking in strays from Yorkshire.
Tia is about saving greyhounds wherever they are.
If you can offer a home to one or more of these wonderful animals, then please contact us on the email below.

Hope – Yorkshire
Hope Well, that's not very elegant young lady. How's that for a bed fail. Hope came into Tia with her friend Faith a few months ago having been found straying in Leeds. Both dogs have thrived under the care of their foster folks, and we thank them for all the help....
Sassy (Doncaster)
Sassy (Tis Roundthebend) born Apr 2021 Finished racing a month ago and just finished so far back Sassy was disqualified. Now this young lady is a huge favourite with the kennel staff. Bouncy, full of life and struts about with her tail in the air. Also, very beautiful...
Fame (Doncaster)
Fame (Proud Fame) born Dec 2021 Fame was positively murdered in her what proved to be her final race. A thumping big 36 kg bloke knocked her over at the second bend. Now any girl worth her slingbacks isn't going to take that lying down. Fame showed her displeasure,...
Fern (Scotland)
Fern arrived about a month ago now and has settled in well to the routine. Her tranquility was shattered when her brother Rusty was ushered into her boudoir with the understanding that she had to share a bed again.
Fern like Rusty was found straying in this area, without a microchip or a bindle to her name. Tia reckons that she is about 18 months old, full of life and brainless to boot. The greys look upon her in disgust. Youth of today!
Quite beautiful but probably needs someone who understands a young lurcher and help her develop into a useful member of society.
No cats!
Marley (Scotland)
Like so many, a plain black dog looking for a soft place to fall.
Veteran of 111 races and winner of twenty of them. Poor Marley got caught up in a very rough race back in March and ended his career by showing his displeasure! He had won in some style only the fortnight before. Time he hung up his muzzle anyway.
Marley is with us in in Scotland and is becoming a firm favourite with us all.
Maggie (Scotland)
Sammy (Scotland)
Sofa mate of superstar Warzone Tom (right) and idolised by his owner. Open racer and no slouch either. This is a sad case but heartening to see a trainer ensuring his dogs safety. We have known him for years and are honoured that he rang us. Had things been otherwise Sammy would be on his sofa until his last breath.
Tommy (Scotland)
We have a celebrity in our midst. Believe me if it were not for a family situation, we would not be getting a sniff of this dog. A superb athlete. Two Group 1’s, including the Golden Collar, two track records and more Opens than a boy can count.
Thirty-four wins. Tommy and his mate Sammy know more of racing than the rest of the barn dogs put together.
Owned by a member of a generation that wouldn’t let a dog out their sight, never mind ownership.
Bellamy (Scotland)
Last raced June 2023 trailing in last after a bit of a rough race, something we hate to see. Took nine races in his career and deserved a better finish. He is very gentle and friendly. Also, he is clean in his kennel.
Desperately needs a change of luck. Bellamy is part of the welfare batch and is here with us in Nairn. He is only a little chap and is full of fun.
Bellamy is a straightforward lad who has spent a few weeks in a home. He passed with flying colours and it’s only because of a change in the family circumstances that he has been returned.
Bradley (Scotland)
A beautiful brindle and for his grading a respectable racer. Hercules won ten of his forty races and is one of our welfare cases. Nice lad who is ready to move onto the next stage of his life. It begins now, in Scotland.
Bradley has been so distressed that he has ground all his teeth down to stumps. He is as keen as mustard and is a huge boy. He is lost.
Kit (Scotland)
This is a little cracker of a dog. A Macmanus welfare case. His career in Britain lasted 14 days start to finish, almost eclipsing his Irish form (beaten 23 lengths on his only start). Excellent effort Kit. As you can see, he is a bit motheaten but has vastly improved from the beaten down wreck that was coaxed from the van a few months ago. Kit has begun to enjoy life again,
There are a few scars on this lad’s body, we have discovered that males were kennelled together un-muzzled. As a softer dog young Kit tended to be picked on a bit.
Presley (Scotland)
Name: Presley
Racing Name: Vixons Power
DOB: 2nd May 2020
Bauer (Scotland)
Lad who has been rotting in his Kennel since his last race in June 2022, until he came up here in August. Another of the Macmanus dogs.
Veteran of 106 races and should have been on a sofa long ago.
Bauer is probably the most troubled of the lot. Rumour has it that McManus kennelled dogs together without muzzles. The track vet was always stitching them up. Bauer has scars all over him. He watches every move in the kennels and i only hope he sleeps well on a night. He is coming round, we can catch him now in the paddocks and he is learning to trust again but very, very slowly.
Mulder (Scotland)
Mulder won 4 of his 20 races, the last one was in March 2022 and he never left his trainers kennel again.
He sits firmly at the back of the kennel waiting for us to make a wrong move. A very nervous lad at the moment. One of the Lee Macmanus batch of nine we took in at the end of August. He needs an experienced home, preferably with another dog but this boy must be kept safe and not let off his lead even in a secure paddock.
Work in progress.
Doc (Doncaster – RESERVED)
Bit smaller than some of the others on here. Weighing in at a trim 31 kgs. Less on the clock than his mate Del but still a reasonable score sheet with seven races. Still a young dog.
Doc hasn’t been on a track for over a year and is overdue a home. We have been told he is as soft as butter, loving and quiet as a mouse.
Just ready to begin his serious career as a sofa hound.
Del (Doncaster)
Failed to qualify back in February after a long career running at Doncaster. Del is a blue lad who tips the scales at 34kg
Del needs a home after 150 races and winning 28 of the things. More once we have talked to his trainer.
He doesn’t owe racing a darn thing.
Hilda (Nottingham)
Bambi (Ripley)
Tired girl.
Needs a new career as a lounge ornament. One hundred and three races and owes racing nothing.
Bambi finally hung up her boots on 1st March whilst still a contender. Right to the last the lady has given her all. Not the largest of girls, heart is bigger than most.
Needs to be going down the drive looking through the rear window of her new family’s hatchback!!!
Elias
Elias (Annes Elias)
Parker (Doncaster)
One hundred and twenty-seven races, winning or being placed in over 50 of the blighters. This is what his trainer sys about him.
Really lovely boy. Calm, quiet, friendly. Apparently he’s brilliant with other dogs. Can be kennelled with dogs or bitches. Used to be kennelled with Plus Four (our Nixon). Walks calmly on lead.
Lets hope he has the same sort of luck.
Will (Doncaster)
Will (Chasing Williebe) born Sept 21 A lovely friendly sort who is great with his kennel mates. Loves everyone. He forgot to pack the talent he had shown in Ireland and hasn't troubled the judges at Doncaster. Last spotted at Doncaster from some distance away back...
Maura (Doncaster)
Maura (Rackethall Maura) born Sept 2022 Dinky girl but with plenty of attitude. Takes her time to get to know you and frankly needs to work on her social graces. Hell on heels at the moment, if you see her coming better step aside. Maura had a mercifully short career...
Carter (Doncaster)
Carter (Cushie Reeves) born Feb 2022 Hit the deck back in Feb at Doncaster and also managed to get disqualified for life to boot. We have looked at the form that day and it seems to have been an extremely rough race. Horrible. If you look closely, you can see the huge...
Topaz (Doncaster Kennel 3)
Topaz (Dashgrove Blue) born Aug 22 Irish girl, Topaz last graced the track back in November where she sadly finished lame. Fine now and looking for a career in the looking cute and gorgeous sector. Tiny girl who loves nothing better than to be the centre of attention....
Elsa (Doncaster Kennel 3)
Elsa (Explosive Elsa) born May 22 Her granny was a rockstar. Mum would have failed to get a job in Tescos. Won twelve races though and downed tools in a race back in December. A hock injury, which finished her career. Cuddle monster. We shall have to prise her away...
Twirl (Doncaster Kennel 3)
Twirl (Redbrick Twirl) born Oct 21 Calm steady type in this manic world. Sister to .....well everyone called Redbrick frankly. Four wins, seventeen races and hasn't raced for a year. New career is long overdue. Petite girl like her sisters.
Jasmine (Doncaster Kennel 3)
Jasmine (Ballymac Sunline) born Oct 21 Best friends forever with Joanne. Love nothing better to play together. We have been told that she is sweet and friendly and looks it too. Jasmin trailed in last after a very rough race back in August. Mum seems to have been a...
Kellie (Doncaster Kennel 3)
Kellie (Sparta Kellie) born Jun 21 Mum had one litter, eleven pups and only Kellie and one another did anything to write home about. Her sister won last night at Waterford, in some style. The other nine never even made the track. Kellie won five races but her form...
River (Doncaster Kennel 3)
River (Monbeg River) born Jan 22 Likes to go for walks and be out and about. No-one told him that you had to move a bit faster to get on a track. River was last in a race in Ireland, beaten 14 lengths and ended up in Doncaster. Six frankly un-inspiring trials later...
Jim (Doncaster Kennel 3)
Jim (Emers Jim) born July 22 Tuxedo greyhound. Stunning. Born in Ireland. Failed to impress in his first run and red carded for life in his second. Bravo Jim. We love this sort.
Dolly (Doncaster Kennel 3)
Dolly (Tomahurra Jane) born Jul 22 Much as we would like to tell you about her final race we cannot. Lulu last raced on Boxing Day in heavy fog and no-one knows what happened. Dolly trialled again this month but failed to meet the cut. Stupid game anyway.
Rolo (Doncaster Kennel 3)
Rolo (Redbrick Rolo) born Oct 21 Described as soft as Oat. Delightful. Four attempts to get his career started to no avail, Rolo has been lozzicking at his trainers expense since March 24. Playful, sweet and first to give a cuddle. There won't be a dry eye in the...
Jonas (Doncaster Kennel 3)
Jonas (Redbrick Mars) born Oct 21 Very quiet and unsure. Needs someone understanding to bring him out of his shell. Jonas will find his way with the right family. Last saw a track in earnest Oct 23.
Miller (Doncaster Kennel 3)
Miller (Redbrick Boost) born Oct 21 Quiet fellow. Enough brains to now when and how to quit the ring. Miller won four races but frankly we don't think his heart was in it. Just another big black dog, sitting in his kennel awaiting a family to overlook colour and...
Rodney (Doncaster Kennel 3)
Rodney (Foxrock Rodney) born Jan 22 His trainer claims he would sleep his life away of allowed. Well, his magnificent 33 kg honed athletic frame needs to recover from his exertions. Last raced back in October so lets face it he is milking it. Large sofa and loving...
JoJo (Doncaster Kennel 3)
JoJo (Redbrick Joanne) born October 21 Quiet playful little girl. Poor JoJo injured her foot early in training and needed to have her toe amputated. Consequently, Jojo never once set foot on a track. Looks exactly like her sister Maggie (Redbrick Bounty).
Branno (Doncaster Kennel 3)
Branno (Bargain Branno) born July 21 Twelve races. Best placing was third. Tried though, unlike the rest of the litter. We have been told he is an absolute gentleman and would sell his soul for a snog. Beautiful.
Gina (Scotland)
Gina (Ballymac Gloss) born 4 Dec 2021 Quite beautiful. Spayed and ready to go to her new home. Won 4 times so not entirely disgraced. Just a little girl, standing in front of the world, asking someone to love her. Gina is gorgeous and loves the place. The lady just...
Madam (Doncaster)
Madam (Sizzling Madam) born 2/06/21 Look at this little poppet. Fits beautifully in one's top pocket at 25kg. Any smaller and Madam could go in your handbag. In her last race the winner weighed a thumping 35 kgs. Madam never stood a chance and had the brains not to...
Lulu (Doncaster)
Lulu (Ruffian Helena) born 02/09/20 What are you laughing for missus. Her form is nothing to laugh about, fifteen wins out of 79 runs. A better racer than her thumping big brother by a country mile. Lulu saw Buster go down the drive without a backward glance and now...
Lennon (Doncaster)
Lennon (Let it be) born 5/01/21 His brothers and sisters are all named after Beatles songs. Come Together, Revolution, Sergeant Pepper, the lot. Another tough racer who needs a new career. Lennon was racing up until eight weeks ago although the writing had been on the...
Swanley (Doncaster, Kennel 2)
Swanley (Swanley Bridge) born Nov 2021 Came last in his three trials. He ran alone in two! Connections were so embarrassed that he hasn't left the yard since. A fabulous tuxedo greyhound. Ready to embrace a new career trying out bed fails. Swanley is in Doncaster....
Darcy (Humberside)
Darcy Meet Darcy. This beautiful girl is six years old and in need of a fresh start. Darcy was originally a Tia girl, but massive thanks to Clare for taking her in. She is fully house trained, and ok to be left for up to 4 hours. Although she was very reactive to walk...
Adoption donation
Adopting a greyhound or lurcher from Tia is the beginning of a long friendship with one of the kindest, gentlest, and quietest dog breeds you will ever find. (They are smart too: which one of you has to go to work to feed the dog….?) Greyhounds and lurchers make...
