Cannon Hall Walk

A sunny day is forecast for our Tia walk at Cannon Hall Country Park (S75 4AT) this coming Sunday 11th Oct. Come along and catch up with Tia friends. The walk starts at 11am. Meet at the Tia stall, which will be open from 10am, just up from the car park opposite the garden centre.

Cecilia Fundraiser

Cecila’s Three Peaks fundraiser closed this week… At the end of each mountain, she laid a rose for all of the dogs we have lost here at the farm. Sadly, there have been a lot…

She managed to raise a fabulous £1442.04 in total; what a star.

Rehoming

Rodney

It doesn’t happen often, but very occasionally we meet a dog who needs a really special home. And Foxrock Rodney was one such boy.

Rodney is a beautiful and fabulous lad. A big, strong, energetic boy. A larger-than-life character… full of exuberance, but also full of LOVE. Rodney adores being part of a family and is a very loving and affectionate boy. But he can have moments when his behaviour is unpredictable and he acts out of character.

Rodney is, of course, communicating in the only way he can. But it was important to find a family who understood this and who could love and accept him, as Mark Darcy famously said to Bridget Jones, “just the way you are”.

Understandably, it took a bit longer than usual, but… never ones to shy away from a challenge… find them we did!

Rodney has been home for about three weeks now. He’s settled in and is flourishing with the love and understanding of his family, along with the expertise of Donaldsons Vets, under whose care he will remain.

Some organisations simply wouldn’t have given Rodney a chance… it would have been a one-way ticket to the vets.

We will never fully know what has or hasn’t happened in Rodney’s past, or what any of these beautiful dogs have had to endure. But if there is one photo that sums up Rodney’s story and the difference Tia Greyhound Rescue makes, it has to be this…

Luna

Despite several people showing interest, no one has picked up the phone for the beautiful Luna. She can’t stay where she is.

It’s so very sad.

Olive

When you’ve spent 8 YEARS in kennels and FINALLY find a home! Olive (formerly Tingle) was rehomed just before her 8th birthday and is most definitely loving her new life! After birthing and raising litters, she finally has the freedom to behave like a big pup herself! Thank you to Olive’s family for giving this girl her chance.

No cameras or humans were broken during the making of this video!

And finally this week…

So it was supposed to be Conrad & Sandy’s trip out, but Conrad wouldn’t get in the van. Hubble on the other hand was crying in the kennels. So Sandy & Hubble it was.

Bet he was fed up that he missed the treat at the end…
