Domino
Meet Domino, a sweet-natured lurcher boy with a gentle heart and a big personality! He was found as a stray in Yorkshire but has been living it up with his foster family on the Isle of Skye for the last few months. His age is a bit uncertain but around 2-4 years is the best guess. He’s been neutered, is housetrained, calm around people, and doesn’t do the whole slobbery-licky thing — perfect for anyone who loves affection without the mess. He’s also a brilliant car traveller and isn’t overly food motivated, so you won’t find him raiding the kitchen counters.
But like any character worth knowing, Domino has a few quirks. He’s still learning the ropes when it comes to obedience training and can be a bit boisterous off-lead. He’s also figuring out which dogs he wants to be pals with — he may growl at ones he’s unsure of, so he’ll need careful introductions and confidence-building in this area. He also has a strong prey drive, so a cat-free and sheep-free home is a must.
He settled quickly into foster life but can be a little anxious about being left alone. Building up to short periods apart will be an important part of his ongoing training. With the right guidance and consistent training, Domino has so much potential. He’s a lovable, loyal companion who just needs someone patient and experienced to help him shine.
Ideal home: Pet-free, secure garden, active humans who enjoy training and play.

Madam (Sizzling Madam)
born 2/06/21
Look at this little poppet.
Fits beautifully in one’s top pocket at 25kg. Any smaller and Madam could go in your handbag. In her last race the winner weighed a thumping 35 kgs. Madam never stood a chance and had the brains not to damage herself trying. A girly girl whose career petered out and needs a new career as a sofa ornament.
Madam can be seen in Doncaster.

Lennon (Let it be)
born 5/01/21
His brothers and sisters are all named after Beatles songs. Come Together, Revolution, Sergeant Pepper, the lot. Another tough racer who needs a new career. Lennon was racing up until eight weeks ago although the writing had been on the wall for a while. Eleven wins at Doncaster and thirty-two kilos of love. In Doncaster with his trainer still.
Needs someone to change his name to Yesterday, The Long and Winding Road, Hello Goodbye.
“We had the pleasure of taking this gorgeous boy out of kennels for the morning and he was so happy and excited to meet us. His trainer told us he loves being made a fuss of and he really does!
Lennon needed a little help getting into the car but I’m sure he would learn to jump in in no time. He laid straight down and was great on the journey, despite it all being so new. He loved having a sniff around when we first arrived and then walked happily and calmly on his lead. He enjoyed being out front but never pulled and was calm when we saw other dogs. He just looked across at them and carried on walking. Even when a smaller dog was barking at him, he showed very little interest, other than a quick glance. Lennon didn’t behave as if this was his first time out of the kennel environment and it was hard to believe he’d never been to the park before so we think he would settle quickly into his new home. He is a really kind and beautiful boy who will make someone very happy”.
Welcome Lennon.

Darcy
Meet Darcy. This beautiful girl is six years old and in need of a fresh start. Darcy was originally a Tia girl, but massive thanks to Clare for taking her in.
She is fully house trained, and ok to be left for up to 4 hours. Although she was very reactive to walk initially, she is now making good progress on the lead when meeting other breeds. However, she must go to an experienced home, one with no other dogs, small furries or young children (under 10), and ideally one with previous knowledge of sighthounds and/ or reactive dogs, in order to continue her training and not fall back into bad habits!
If you can help Darcy find that forever home, please get in touch for more info by messenger or ringing Clare @ Humber Retired Greyhounds on 07722 179342.
