Caleb

Caleb

Caleb (Ballymac Caleb)

Born October 2022

A magnificent dark brindle who has spent his life running around Doncaster. Racing depends on these sort of dogs, the fodder for the bookies. Caleb is more than that. Six wins but just became slower and finished the game in one piece a few months ago.

He is a quiet 29 kgs fellow and delightfully still retains his puppyish trait. Caleb desperately wants to be your friend but likes to make sure you are nice too.

More later. We suspect he won’t be on the shelf much longer.

Super.

Dude

Dude

Dude (Sober Dude)

Born Sept 2021

Superb colour and presence, you have to admit. Another dog who could go around Doncaster in his sleep. Fifteen wins, but pulled up lame back in February. Fully recovered now and trialled since, however he was done with the game and finished 14 lengths behind the winner. Something we hate to see.

Is he downcast? Hell no! Box of frogs, vitality oozing out of every pore. Full of energy, you could get exhausted just looking at him. This is not the dog for quiet strolls. Dude was so delighted to be going out it took ages to the get the lead on him. Should be connected to the national grid.

He may evolve into a sober dude at some point but not yet baby! Not yet!

Welcome kiddo.

Sky

Sky

Sky (Saleen Sky)

born July 2021

The spitting image of his little sister Avery, just a few dress size or two bigger. A similar temperament too.  Very much his own man and his idol is Greta Garbo (I want to be alone).

Not a bad racer, won or placed 26 times at Doncaster. However of late his form has trailed off and it was decided to retire him before he injured himself. In the only clip we can find of him racing, he finished fourth. Sky was a lot better than that.

Sky needs a quiet family without young children. by no means unfriendly, he just hates fuss. Sky needs time to settle into a new way of life and equally important to find himself.

Beautiful dog.

Bramble (Ballymac Bramble)

born June 2022

A magnificent blue brindle. Last raced in December. Lightly raced but managed to win three times. Trainer says he is one of the friendliest dogs in the kennel, although he seemed unsure about us. It could have been the strimmer in the back ground though. Interested in ornithology.

More when we know a little more.

Lovely looking lad.

Axel

Axel

Axel (Skirk Axel)

born July 2021

Pity he is a dog. If your daughter brought him home, you’d be over the moon. Clean cut, chiselled features, breadwinner, a HNWI (look it up) and a happy friendly disposition. Or you might marry him yourself.

First, he is beautiful. Also a tough hard warrior. Finished first or second in half of his races and could be relied on to bring home the bacon. His connections ate a lot of the stuff as Axel’s final tally finished at 111 races.  His career came crashing down in October when he pulled up with a fractured leg. The first time he had ever finished sixth in his life. Like the Fighting Temeraire being towed off to the breaking yard.

Load of rubbish. His connections were devastated and made sure he had the best. It’s difficult because he is full of life (and love) but he is well on his way to a full recovery. The pot is now off and he is on track to trial out for a sofa.

Axel will make a great family dog and gets on well with other dogs. His appetite is legendary and tips the scales at a respectable 33 kgs. The kennel staff might hide him just to enjoy his company for a little longer. Give them a hard stare!

A super super greyhound.

Drillers brother, and equally beautiful. Off to the races in tomorrow to see if he can add to his tally of 18 wins. Working lads don’t have time to chat and last week he was robbed. It is fair to say though that he is coming to the end of his career and ……it’s time!

Logan has around 100 races under his belt and still earning his corn. We hear that he is a nice calm steady dog but probably would not want to be homed with another dog. Likes girls though.

Here’s what we have learned since he came on our radar…

Logan is a medium/large boy who is mainly white with a black mask, black patches, cute smattering of black spots on his nose and handsome brown eyes. He is quite the ladies man but not so keen on some of the other males. He is a really people friendly lad and a pleasure to walk. He is very nosey, interested in what’s going on around him and wants to investigate. He is also up for a cuddle and a good Greyhound lean on you the minute he gets a chance
