Nairn Show
Well, the weather held out last weekend, and a lovely afternoon was had by all. Just a few of our favourite pictures, including, of course, the Champion and Reserve Champion.
It was lovely to see Herbie, the tiny Whippet x and a stray from Leeds, and our lovely Mason, a stray from Barnsley. Both are now living their best lives up here.

The Hedgehog Hostage Situation – The Conclusion!
This morning we received another mystery package, containing a videotape and a note…
“THOUGHT YOU MIGHT LIKE TO SEE THIS, LOVE BLACKOUT x”
Blackout is as honest as the day is long and couldn’t bear to see the Tia team in a tizz, so he decided to blow the whistle on the Hedgehog hostage-taker! And Primo has been caught red-handed…
But the plot thickens! After a full investigation, it appears that not a single hair on Hedgehog’s head was harmed. Primo is really just a big softie who was feeling lonely and wanted someone to cuddle up with at night!
And as for Hedgehog… well, he thoroughly enjoyed his mini-break in Doncaster!

Saying Goodbye to Spot
And finally… this week we said goodbye to sponsor dog Spot.
When we lost his sister Dot last year, we promised we would keep him safe until it was his turn.
We kept our word. A bittersweet day.
Spot is the last of the Sheffield thirteen as far as we know. Too badly damaged to even contemplate a rehoming, Spot and Dot were content to live out their lives under our wing. I think we made them happy, neither gave us a minutes trouble.
Unregistered like his sister, his colour hadn’t given us any clues as to his age. Since the loss of Dot, Spot has just been marking time. My heart broke once watching him. I realised he had curled up tightly, to give his late sister Dot some room on the bed. How do you tell a dog his mate isn’t coming back.
Thanks to all the supporters of all 13. End of an era for us too.
