Perhaps you want to support Tia Rescue, but want to do so in a way that is more personal and meaningful. If so, our “sponsor a dog” scheme is perfect for you.

We currently offer three types of sponsorships

  • 12 month regular sponsorship (£52)
  • 6 month regular sponsorship (£26)
  • 12 month kennel sponsorship (£100)

By sponsoring, you ensure that your chosen dog will be warm and dry, have plenty of comfy bedding, access to any vet treatment required and will be well fed during their stay. All sponsors receive an A5 certificate of sponsorship, as well as a birthday card from their chosen sponsor dog (they really do write them, honest!). Kennel sponsors will have their name displayed on their kennel for a year.

You can also sponsor for someone else – with Christmas coming up, this would be a great idea to send as a gift to a friend or loved one. If you are planning on gifting a sponsorship, make sure to do it as soon as possible so we have time to post out the certificate before the last posting date (18th December for Royal Mail).

Anyway, it’s time to meet a few of the dogs…

The Newbies

Ida and Izzy are our latest sponsor girls.

Ida’s great granny was an outstanding brood, producing Group 1’s galore. We gave up counting the track records her kids held and couldn’t be bothered with mere Opens. Her granny and mum should never have come out of the van however, and Ida has followed in their footsteps. Still too nervous to even contemplate rehoming, she will be staying here until she stops being triggered. We all have to earn our keep though, so she has now retrained as a sponsor dog. Perhaps she’s a late bloomer.

Izzy was about 6 months old when we were asked to take her in; her siblings were picking on her. She is so happy and loving, but unfortunately, she has lesions on her brain which affects her coordination, balance, and learning. She is in a permanent foster home, but Tia will still be responsible for any veterinary care costs for her for life.

The old guard

The rest of the sponsor block have been with us a long, long time (since before we moved to Scotland).

Many of you know about the Sheffield 13 group that arrived at Tia at the end of 2019. When they arrived, they were neglected and damaged; wrecked, emotionally and physically. Amongst them were four beautiful brothers – Mr Mole, Terence, Eugene and Bungle.

Like many dogs before them, these dogs were just too broken to be rehomed, and so they became sponsor dogs. Sadly, we lost Eugene in 2021, Terence in 2022, and Mr Mole early in 2023. They were all loved immensely. We still have Bungle; he is a lovely boy but remains troubled, his eyes still full of sadness.

Spot & Dot were also part of the Sheffield 13 group. Having spent so long in the dark, these two are inseparable; we have serious problems if they even lose sight of each other. The world is still a very scary place to them.

And this old fella? This is Langley. A big gentle black hound with mesmerising eyes, he has been with us for many years. He is going grey and getting wobbly, but he still loves going for a stroll around the paddock. He has been a pleasure all these years.

These are just a few of the dogs you can help by sponsoring – if you want to find out about all of them, follow the link here and read their stories. Perhaps you already know who you want to sponsor? If so, just follow this link; choose your dog, type of sponsorship, and enter your details. And don’t forget; payments toward sponsorships are valid for gift aid, which means your contribution could be worth 25% more. Please remember to sign up at checkout if you are eligible!

If you do decide to sponsor, we would appreciate payment to be made via bank transfer; this way, the money will go directly to our account and we will not be charged costly payment processing fees.

Thank you.
