Eighteen rehomed or fostered in just four weeks and several more in the pipeline. I challenge any greyhound rescue to match that total.
Apollo, Power, More, Lilly(reserved) Manny, Dora and puppy dog….England
Oscar, Peggy, Magic, Ridley, Rami & Tubbs rehomed.
Ventress (reserved) Bellamy, Gina, Presley and Domino on foster…Scotland
My personal and genuine thanks, in no particular order to those responsible for this success. Those travelling up and down the motorway with various dogs in the back. They might stay overnight , a few days or a few hours. Our new place is starting to gain traction, and Tia is attracting Scottish adopters/fosters. Two of the three girls transported here last week are on trial/rehomed already. We hope young Maggie won’t be long after them. Beautiful bitches like these may be low hanging fruit, however their departure from the trainers has a knock-on effect. Large black dogs waiting for a spot at Tia get a reprieve for a while, though we take plenty of those. Tommy and Sammy have just passed Scotch Corner an hour ago, and a placement is already lined up for Tommy. Our kennel staff have made their beds up ready. Thanks girls.
Our fosters are outstanding. Best in the business. Let’s not forget they continually bond with a dog, only to see it disappearing down the drive without a backward glance. Enough to break one’s heart and they are very special people. Some people just can’t do it. Lilly has been reserved at last, to the relief of Glencoe and Harvey and we hope the others will be packing their bags soon. Particularly Madeline who seems to be ruling the roost there.
Who would have thought we would still be customers of Donaldsons the vets. Solid gold. I don’t need to be there. They are on speed dial and after all these years know exactly what we want. They fit in with the pickups and drop offs, hold some overnight until ready. I really miss the vet’s room at Millrace and the Thursday neutering afternoon gossip. Phones off, feet up and a stream of bacon sandwiches. Bliss.
Thank you to those who have taken over the promotion in the media. Tia was missing so many opportunities due to lack of attention, and you have caught the reins. If you do the write ups, like or share, you are contributing make no mistake. Our recent success in rehoming is in no small way down to you.
A huge thanks to those who raise funds for us. Massive! You can’t get far without the stuff. We would be out of business within a week without you. More on you guys later and more fully. I really can’t do you justice here.
Finally, some gratitude to the dogs who put up with a succession of guests at their homes. They are required to shift up, share bowls and bones and be nice. It speaks volumes to the temperament of the greyhound that they tolerate these arrangements. We hear you Nola and Pirlo, Maddie will hopefully be on her way soon.
You are all superstars.
