About me

When the Sheffield 13 arrived at Tia Rescue in December 2019. they were neglected and damaged. Wrecked emotionally and physically. We had four beautiful brothers who were never rehomed, they were just too broken.
Mr Mole, Terence, Eugene and Bungle.
We gave them forever sanctuary at Tia Rescue. These 4 beautiful hounds became sponsor dogs, like many before them.
Sadly we lost Eugene in 2021, Terence in 2022 and Mr Mole early in 2023. They were all loved immensely.
We still have Bungle, he is a lovely boy but still troubled. His eyes still full of sadness.

About me

Jayvees Star        dob 1.9.2014

Jay came to us at 4 years of age, after having a successful racing career at Romford and Doncaster. He has been rehomed a couple of times, but prefers the security of a kennel environment. He is no bother at all, but is a bit of a worry as he has breathing problems. We are keeping a close eye on him, as he does on us, especially at meal times. Jay loves his food!

About me

Great name! Drinksonthehouse whelped 10.8.15

Won 7 races at Tralee and Belle Vue. His last win at the latter was in a race called “Friends of Belle Vue we need your support”. That aged well. Vasco last raced in March 2019. For some reason, he just stopped dead in a race, although the writing had been on the wall with deteriorating form for a while. Came last in his final three races…..form reads 6, 6, 6. Sometimes you swear they know something! Maybe he’d just had a guts full.

Vasco trialled a couple of days later and failed to qualify. Arrived at Tia a week later in lovely nick. He is no fairy princess at 36 Kgs.

Vasco has been with us nearly 4 years. He won’t even go down into the big paddock unless Kiona is with him and even then he’s not overly happy about it. He loves his life, no fuss, no drama. A lovely quiet big lad.

About Me

I’m Freaking Out    dob   15.9.16
Three trials at Nottingham where he did not exactly impress.

A real dark Knight

We have had Hubble since January 2019. Despite numerous offers of a home, Hubble has never managed to get himself a home. He is still as keen as mustard. A recent trip to Brodie Castle only reinforced that fact.  He is a lovely, lovely dog but just doesn’t like other breeds. He is coming up seven years old, he could be rehomed to an experienced home but I think Tinkerbell would be mortified. They are like an old married couple.

About me

Santro Knows          dob  26.10.2015

Fetched £1600 as a mere stripling. Never raced a GBGB track just on the Independent circuit. He was given to Tia at just over 3 years old. A very, very nervous dog who won’t go anywhere, other than the paddocks.

He is a stunning dog who many have admired but he isn’t having any of it.

I’m alright where I am thanks….Lovely Logan

Russanda Capri        dob  01/03/2015

When Maha arrived at Tia rescue in October 2017 she was afraid of life, needing to spend her paddock time on a lead as catching her was a morning’s work. Her confidence has grown and now she loves the kennel staff. She also loves Woody, her kennel mate; she sleeps on him, snuggles up, hides behind him, chases and plays with him. He is her rock.

She remains frightened of people, especially men. Barking from a distance, with Woody at her side.

Maha has just gone 10 years old and is happy with her lot. She is on a special diet as we nearly lost her at the end of 2024 with pancreatitis.

She is a very happy old lady…
